However, in a rotating frame of reference, the situation is different. A rotating frame is a non-inertial reference frame, and in such a reference frame, the centrifugal force appears very real to the object in circular motion. The centrifugal force is given by:

Centrifugal Force and Centripetal Force

Applications of Centrifugal Force

In a car taking a turn, passengers often feel a force pushing them towards the outside of the turn; this is the centrifugal force. Understanding centrifugal force is also crucial in fields like aeronautics and astronautics.
